RecoveryPriceTracker

How we track prices

Short version: every night we read the public product listings of brand stores and specialist dealers, record each model's price, and keep every reading. Over time that record shows what each item really sells for.

Where the prices come from

We read only public product data that each store publishes for its own catalog. That's the same price and stock information any shopper sees. We don't log in, use private APIs or get around any blocks. If a store blocks automated reads, we leave it out.

Saunas (20 stores)

Checked but not usable: sunlighten.com (main site has no public product feed; the US shop subdomain is used).

What we include

Massage chairs: full massage chairs only. We leave out accessories, covers, warranties, portable massagers, recliners, lift chairs, beds and loungers.

Saunas: complete saunas only (indoor and outdoor cabins, barrels, cubes, pods, portable saunas and sauna blankets). We leave out heaters and stoves, parts, doors and windows, lighting, benches, covers, liners and wood packages, custom or made-to-order builds, and bundles with cold plunges or other products. If we can't tell who makes a sauna, we leave it out rather than guess.

In both sections we skip refurbished, open-box, floor-model and pre-owned units, retired models, and listings tied to a specific sales channel, because those prices aren't comparable with a new item.

Which price we record

For each listing we record the lowest-priced option shown (usually the base finish and standard configuration), whether it's in stock, and the store's "compare-at" price if it shows one. Shipping, tax, delivery, installation and electrical work aren't included.

Matching the same model across stores

Stores name the same model differently. We match two listings only when they're the same brand and their model names agree after we strip out marketing words, or when they share the same manufacturer model code and the names don't conflict. For saunas, the included options also have to agree: a sauna sold with a gas or wood heater, a porch, a changeroom or a bundled heater isn't matched with one sold without it. When in doubt, we list them separately. A person reviews close calls before they're merged.

Compare-at prices are claims

Many listings show a "compare-at" or "list" price far above what the item normally sells for, so a permanent sale always looks like a big discount. We show it, with the date we first saw it ("compare-at price shown since …"), but we never call the difference a saving. A real drop means today's price is below the highest price we ourselves recorded in the last 30 days.

Some stores list an item at the same price another store shows as its compare-at price. We mark those "priced at compare-at" and leave them out of price-gap deals.

Specs

We show a spec only when a store's own listing states it, and we name the store it came from. A blank means "not stated" and doesn't mean "no". Before you buy, confirm size, weight limits, electrical requirements, what's included and warranty terms with the store.

What we don't do

We don't review how a product feels, and we don't make or repeat health, medical, "detox" or EMF-related claims about any product. Even where a listing makes such claims, we leave them out of names and specs. RecoveryPriceTracker is a price and spec tracker. If you have a medical question, ask a qualified professional.
